Everyone has a story. Mine is relevant to you because my life experiences are infused into my coaching, facilitation, and leadership style. I want to be transparent with you about who I am and what I’m all about. That’s how you’ll know if we’re the right fit. And, if something about my journey speaks to your heart, I’d love to hear from you. Sound good? Here we go:
My passion for women’s empowerment came alive when I was 12 years old.
My mother took me to see Jean Kilbourne’s presentation Killing Us Softly on how the advertising industry negatively impacts women and girls’ self-esteem. I sat in my middle school auditorium, aghast, as Jean decoded ad upon ad. It made me sick.
That night I was gifted a new lens through which to see the world. One that gave me the ability to see through the layers of unachievable expectations and exploitation that make up our societal norm.
I felt a fire light inside me that burns brightly to this day -- my desire to help women become their most confident, empowered, and radiant selves. To rise above all the layers of doubt and fears and social anxieties to discover the freedom of simply being yourself and being whole exactly as you are.
Fast-forward to my college years. This was a time when I equated being strong and empowered with outdoor adventure.
I sailed among the icebergs of Labrador, I climbed 100 ft. fig trees with howler monkeys in the rainforests of Costa Rica, and I practiced wilderness survival skills. I’m serious. I learned how to make fire by rubbing sticks together. Fire is beautifully powerful in its ability to connect you with ancient wisdom.
I participated in my first fire-walking ceremony. I walked on burning coals. Multiple times.
No, my feet aren’t scarred. However, my world was completely blown open. I had finally experienced the profound level of meaning, healing, and prayer that I was so very much seeking.
Connection with my spirituality was the “something more” that my soul longed for.
A second passion awakened in me-- a love and respect for deeply meaningful, sacred ritual.
After a number of years exploring various spiritual concepts, guiding international environmental conservation programs for teens, and teaching I was ready for my next chapter. The Universe affirmed my decision and catapulted me forward.
Within 2 months I moved, got a new job, started graduate school, and officially began my journey with the Priestess Path Apprenticeship, a women’s mystery school rooted in the sacred feminine. Life was looking pretty good!
However, just 1.5 years later I hit a real low-point. I distinctly remember walking through a desolate, frozen cornfield at 11 pm feeling completely broken inside. Hollow. Disheartened with humanity.
It was classic. My job was sucking the life out of me.
This was the job that I had been thrilled to get. There were only two openings in my area for this teaching position. It was competitive. I landed both jobs, negotiated my salary, and got my top pick. I had a 10-minute commute!
I love teaching. Always have. It’s passion #3. I had thrived in my previous teaching position. I should have been happy, right? Instead, here I was working myself into the ground, putting in over-the-top hours, and struggling to navigate an old-school system that far from resonated with my style.
I was clearly in the wrong environment and it was starving my soul.
My self-confidence was shattered and self-doubt was in full swing. I was miserable.
It was time for something to change.
And I knew I needed help. I was too far down in the muck, too depleted, too dizzy from the stress-wheel to get oriented and crawl out on my own accord.
I needed community. I needed support.
So, for my 30th birthday I invited my loved ones to gather for a healing circle ritual.
They came.
Through tears I explained that I had lost confidence in myself. I asked them to help me remember my purpose here, my gifts, my passions, my way in the world. I asked them to hold the vision of self-confidence for me until I was able to pick it back up again for myself. It worked!
It was a life-changing ceremony. That I know for certain.
Within 4 months I left my steady job (while keeping my integrity) to pursue my life-long dream of being a women’s empowerment facilitator. I manifested a part-time job in the field, began coaching clients, and secured funding to facilitate a monthly Red Tent gathering for women.
The Universe answered with a resounding, “YES” and I was flying!
Women started seeking me out for support in designing and facilitating rituals. Their results and transformations were equally phenomenal.
My coaching clients started living more meaningful lives, manifesting visions, releasing what no longer served them, showing up with greater authenticity in relationships, and growing into the women they most wanted to be.
In essence, I finally gave myself permission to live my heart’s calling, my true passions.
And, guess what? It’s amazing!
Now years later, I stand stronger in my truth and more connected to my intuition than ever before.
I’m on my life path and I know it.
My work in the world is as a women's empowerment facilitator, expert mindset mentor, soul-centered life coach, and ritualist. My calling is creating opportunities for transformational growth in sacred space.
Home is now an old farmhouse with a view of mountains. We’ve got chickens, a garden, berry bushes, and fruit trees. I’ve been married to my beloved partner for over a decade. We have two beautiful children. Daily I’m reminded of the challenge and the ever more brilliant, shining love of motherhood. I find joy in preserving food for winter, creating art, dancing, singing, cross-country skiing, and sitting in circle with women. Life is full and life is good.
I’ll be honest, the self-doubt gremlin still creeps in on occasion. The difference is that now I’ve got the tools to prevent it from taking me down. And fyi, I’ll always be a seeker and a striver -- I’m constantly learning new ways to deepen my spirituality, to connect with the sacred feminine, to heal, to grow, and to call more magic into my life and lives of my clients.
Since you’ve read this far, it tells me that something about my story resonates with you. Yes?
So I invite you, beautiful soul-centered woman, to join me on this journey of transformation, ritual, and personal empowerment.
Consider this an answer to your yearning for “something more” in life.
I’m here, ready to be your midwife as you birth into your fullest, most alive self.
