The Power of Ritual & CeremonyI will be completely honest-- I love ritual. I seek it out and I weave it into my life, work, art, dance, home, garden, family, and play. For me, ritual is a way of deepening, of making sacred, of honoring, and of engaging consciously with life.
Ritual takes a moment that might otherwise be missed and makes it profound. It's like the glass of water you've been desperate for when you didn't even realize you were thirsty. Ritual feeds the soul. There are very few rituals available to us in modern day mainstream U.S. culture: baptisms, bar mitzvahs, weddings, graduations, funerals, and the occasional special birthday party. Often as not, even these feel empty. This leaves a massive void and a deep yearning for something more. Ritual and ceremony are the doorways to inviting greater meaning into your life. It is powerful. It is healing. It is soul-nourishing. Types of Rituals & CeremoniesI frequently weave simple and profound rituals into my coaching programs and workshops. I'm also available to lead a personalized ceremony for you, to co-facilitate a ceremony with you, or to coach you in designing and running your own ceremony. The list below will give you a taste of the rituals and ceremonies I offer. Please feel welcome to reach out to me if you're looking for something not listed. I have a deep well of creativity and possibility!
Healing Circles: Where do you most need support in your life right now? Healing circles are called for all sorts of reasons: you have a wounded heart, or you're lost and need a reminder of your purpose in the world, or you have an upcoming surgery and are scared, etc. This is a time where you gather in community, ask to be held, are witnessed, and are met with compassion. I can speak from personal experience when I say that healing circles have the power to change the course of your life for the better. Cord Cutting Rituals: These are rituals for letting go of an old relationship or an old way of being in relationship. It provides a means of ending one chapter and beginning another cleanly and with grace. Cord cutting rituals also provide a sense of resolution and closure even when the other person is not present. Manifestation Rituals: Do you have a vision or dream that you want to make reality? What better way to call in your desires than with ritual? Discover heightened clarity on what it is you want, turn up the creative energy, and magnetize! Honoring a Rite of Passage: Life comes with many chapters. Rites of Passage honor the completion of one phase and the beginning of the next. These rituals bring sacredness to life transitions and provide a way to consciously and intentionally begin your next adventure. Motherhood & Birth Blessing Circle: Becoming a mother is a true initiation. Gather with your womenfolk and receive the love and blessings of your community as you walk this great rite of passage. These ceremonies are often deeply moving, incredibly beautiful, and very well received by families. Often these gatherings take place during the 3rd trimester as a meaningful alternative to a conventional baby shower. They are remembered for years to come with great fondness. First Moontime: Think back on what it was like when you first got your period. What it would have been like if you were met with sacred celebration instead? Now imagine how powerful it would be to offer this to the girls in your life now. Here is an opportunity to instill the messages that her body is sacred, strong, beautiful, creative, wise, deserving of respect, and worthy of love. Welcome her to the sisterhood of womanhood. Croning Ceremony: It is a powerful thing to witness a woman claim her crone. As an elder a crone woman speaks what is on her mind, she has wisdom to share, and she has her priorities straight-- she will not waste her time on that which doesn't bring her joy. How does she want to be witnessed and show up in community? Ask her! Weddings: This is your day-- make it yours, make it meaningful! Each relationship is unique and it's your very uniqueness that sparked the love between you. Your wedding ceremony is an opportunity to be true to yourself and share of yourself with your community. Let the joy flow! I am absolutely LGBTQueer friendly. Cleansing & Releasing Ritual: Sometimes you just feel burdened, out of sorts, or like you've taken on someone else's stuff. Other times you've been through a particularly challenging experience and you're ready to let it all go. Time for some multi-level cleansing. To be clear, these rituals are non-denominational and are accessible across a whole spectrum of religious and non-religious backgrounds. This is about being called to the power of the present moment, opening our hearts, and listening.
